While Iowa may seem like a hop, skip and a jump from the East Coast…okay, I can’t even pretend. Driving is about 22 hours, so it’s an option if you have good music and conversation. I’ve done it a few times – but not nearly as many as my mother! Either she really likes cleaning her house and delivering my junk – OR she really really loves me! For the wedding, we recommend flying into the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID). Current airlines are Allegiant, American Eagle, Delta/Northwest and United. We promise you will not get lost at the airport and if you’re lucky, you may even get a jet-bridge! We’ve had good luck using kayak.com to book flights – and especially like flights transferring in Detroit or Minneapolis/St. Paul if possible.
